RE: Miles drivin in a day

We are retired full-timers and we try to limit our travel to no more than
250 miles per day. Works for us as we are on no schedule. Happy Trails!

RE: Wax on wax off?

Have used nothing but Nu-Finish on our "GeorgieBoy" administered by hand and
wiped by hand. The best job ever--leaves no swirls and does a great job.

RE: Ice Build up on Frig cooling fins?

When the ice gets there, I just empty the refrig and let it defrost--freezer,
too. Put a pan of warm water inside--takes about a half hour to do both.
Just a routine thing.

RE: Advice about changing res to S dakota

Not sure who you talked to, but my wife and I both have AARP medical insurance.
My wife's policy is standard as she is not eligible for medicare yet. Mine
is a medicare supplement. Cost is very reasonable. We became residents of
South Dakota in 2005. Alternative Resources handles our mail and there is
an insurance agent right next door that has our motorhome and car insurance.
Took all of 15-20 minutes to get South Dakota drivers license. Will have to
go back to SD in 2011 to renew drivers license--plates for MH and car are done
on line each year. Very simple and efficient. Spent almost two months in
SD this summer. What a beautiful state--great place to be from!!

RE: Internet services at Cg's

We have a Verizon Broadband card ($50.00/mo). Secure and don't have to
worry about WIFI. Only a couple of times have we not been able to get a
signal.

US Route 23 South

Am heading for Travelers Rest, SC in a few days. Wondering and
would like to hear from anyone who has driven US 23 south from
Columbus, OH to the Carolinas. Drove it about 10 years ago
in a car--much of it was 4-lane with a lot of construction going
on in the southern 2-lane portion. Driving a 35' motorhome with
toad this trip.

either. Great place

RE: Changing Banks when changing residency

We became SD residents in 2005. Opened a bank account in Sioux Falls for
our everyday banking needs. Have SS and retirment checks auto-deposited
there. Still maintain a checking account in Indiana bank with 401K money
deposited automatically. Both banks carry our "full-timing" address in
South Dakota. Have credit/debit cards tied to each account--for overdraft
protection only. Have never had any problems with this set-up.

RE: Advice about changing res to S dakota

We also have an AARP policy on my wife who is not eligible for Medicare or
a Medicare supplement. They have no problem with our address being in
South Dakota and us traveling as full-timers. Cost is very reasonable, too.

RE: Natchez Trace worth the trip?

The Natchez Trace is one of the best drives we have ever done and we did it
not in our motorhome but coming back from New Orleans after a Christmas
trip. Very interesting historically, and relaxing--speed limit--strictly enforced--is 50 mph and no semi's hiballing and riding your butt!!
Hope to do it again in the motorhome

RE: Condition of I-10 in TX ad LA ??

One of the worst interstate roads we have ever encountered was I-10 thru
Louisiana--pre-hurricane. Maintenance is unknown in this state. Will never
travel this highway again. Thump-Thump-Thump-Thump--every patch of concrete.
Like driving on a washboard. Guess they don't know what highway maintenance
is in Louisiana!!!

RE: RV Cleaning & Waxing

Have been using Nu-Finish on car for many years and on MH for three years.
Gives a long-lasting job--usually do the MH twice a year, but do the front
about every other stop--after washing off the bugs with a micro-cloth and
warm soapy water.

RE: LP Alarm HELP!!!

Our propane alarm has been going off periodically now for over a month. No
leaks. Had it leak tested at Coachman factory. Ours is hard wired with a
5 amp fuse. Changed fuse and all seemed well--wrong. Went off again and would
not reset. Got out the vacuum cleaner and brush attachment and cleaned well.
This worked. Evidently the unit gets a lot of dust and debris from the kitchen
and must be cleaned more often. Unit is over three years old.

We have been members for three years. Have always found decent campgrounds
and plan our moves around their "no discount" periods when possible. Still
a good bargain, we think.
